glow plug fuse blowing...

My ranger with a 4d55 is having and issue. Was working fine, one morning after firing, normally the controller goes clikc then wait. Then another click and you start. It cycled on and off randomly one morning. Now every time I start ot, the fuse gets blown. Sorry for lack of info but I'm on my cell. Any tips appreciated.

is it the timer fuse or the main fuse? If it's the timer fuse then it's shorting out for some reason.

The main fuse in the fuse panel . Uses a 15 amp and as soon as I put a new one in, instead of clicking twice like the glow plugs normally would. It just blows the fuse. Getting 12.5 volts key on at the fuse box.

would a short in the controller cause this? How can i test it or where could i get it rebuilt?

also, where is the second GP relay?? THere is one by the controller in the pass side kick panel but what about the second one? Any ideas? Its an 86 ranger.

unplugged the solenoid that jumps from the started solenoid so it wasnt getting power, still did it. Unplugged the two wires that go to the buss bar on glow plugs, still did it. Unplugged the main controller for the glow plugs, still did it. Unplugged the relay beside the controller & the controller at the same time, fuse still blew.... im at a loss, any info is greatly appreciated.... where are all the grounds located if someone has input that would be awesome :) guess for the night its going back to the block heater.

i feel pretty dumb, but i found it and got it solved... Long story short, i moved my boost gauge, when i was replacing a screw where the boost gauge used to be mounted, it pierced a wire and caused a short. removed the screw and all was good.... :)

thanks, & on a side note, my relay keeps clicking for some reason, i will start the truck, relay will click on, and off, then i start it, and sometimes it just goes nuts and keeps clicking like it abouts to explode!! this happened just before i had the fuse issue so i dont think the two are related. tried using a different relay i had sitting around incase the other one was getting faulty but it still did the same thing.

Any suggestions would be great :)
