My doors rattle and I'm not sure I want to start adjusting them before asking. My Rubber seals are good but the hasp are I think suppose to be coated with rubber which mine aren't. Is this true? If so I"ll buy new. The hinges don't seem to need new bushings.

no coating on hasps (actually called a striker)....just loosen the 2 phillips head screws in the pic & gently tap door striker MB365675 inward 1/8" & retighten:thumbup:

After a victory lap around the neighborhood with no rattles I'm happy, thanks again.

On those door strikers, I replaced mine '86 with the '87 version which took a little manipulation, but the '87 on should have a rubber coating on them which when closing the door gives a much sweeter car door sound instead of the tin sounding metal on metal sound. Though the mating end that is on the '87 door is also a delrin plastic material, it would not replace the one on the '86 and older models. So getting the 100% effect is decrease by a small amount. But, you can definitely hear the difference when closing the doors on the 1st generation trucks.
