As the title says lol I have a 1995 Mighty max with an Automatic Transmission and I have took the module out underneath the dash mounted on the firewall and ran the numbers and came back being what I thought it was. I also just opened the case of it find out it was burnt places on the circuit board so I tried everything I could to fix the overdrive and shifting problems and nothing worked so I am leaning towards the computer module that controls the trans. I could shift it manually on the column but I still didn't have overdrive so high RPMs when traveling down the road. I have had hard time trying to find one and so called new or used ones on certain sites the computer modules are way too expensive! So I am on a very tight budget I just had my engine rebuilt so I want my trans to work properly and not mess up the newly rebuilt engine. The numbers on the computer module are in the pictures and what it looks like. Thanks!!

I would recommend Foreign Auto Computer in Zephyrhills, FL for a rebuild, less than $200 and it will be done right.

the trannies in these trucks are not computer controlled - the issue is the temp sensor on the intake manifold next to the throttle body. Take the black wire connected to the sensor and connect it to a ground lug on the intake maniford and the O/D should work all the time unless you push the button on the stick to lock out O/D. The temp sensor grounds the O/D solenoid when the truck is at operating temp for emissions reasons.

Thanks for the information and I found one in the junkyard off a 92 MM same identical trans and numbers on the module and now I have overdrive yay! Sorry Pennyman1 I did the wire thing and nothing happened till I replaced the module but thanks for the help anyways :P The Trans is a R4AC1 4 Speed Overdrive Auto and Engine 4G64 2.4L. I always enjoy the help and the site it's awesome!

well I learned something today too - never had a 1995 truck - thought the trannies were all the same.

just FYI all the A500 trans are computer controlled, 91 and on A500. Currently having issues with my overdrive in my 91, 2.4 liter. Found a blown cap in the trans computer, replaced it but the overdrive only works after 30-40 minutes of driving

sensor is already grounded so lets not go there pennyman ;) i see you post about that sensor in every thread on this forum. I'm gonna look for a used computer and see if that fixes things.
