So i have some questions on my 1990 Mitsubishi MM 3.0L 4x4.
1) I have the V5MT1 trans. What is the power/torque limitations of this trans? Seems pretty stout
2) my front diff is an 8". Starions seem to be limited. can I swap out with 1st gen MM rear diffs? Are they not 8" too?
3) sounds like my 9" rear gears might be interchange with ford 9". Is this true? Also I know that the second gen monteros have a higher pinion and not swappable but are their limited slip diffs still interchangeable with mine?
I ask these questions because I will be going 1 of 3 directions depending on my limitations. I will be going:
-6g72 TT. I have a complete TT block in my garage. This would be the most complex due to the exhaust and location of the turbos. Still not as bad as customer manifolds on a 3s.
-6g74. I have a local provider with one that I can drop in along with the matching wiring harness and ECU.
-6g75. Little harder to source, but I can get one. Parts are a little less common, but still solid motors. With these last two options I would first go N/A and later explore going TT.
My background is with the TT 3S's. I have a couple fun projects in the making and decided to take this one on as well. Could really use some answers on the above questions, so I can get this girl rolling.
My other project
