Does anybody know what these transmissions can handle torque wise? And if not very much is there any stronger options that can be swapped in?

Had a spark blowout issue last time I went on the dyno but at 210rwtq at 4K. Now I'm making more and it's holding up okay. 8 years with boost and I have a lockout at from 2-3 shifting at 7k intermittently. Otherwise slight grind. Looking to go back to the dyno sooner or later. Lol.

I imagine you are running a 4 cylinder. If v6 then quite a bit more as it's very similar to the Fuso trucks. I plan to further test its capacity by early next year.

Guys on site are using reinforced cover plates on their transmissions. LSRMike built a truck that pushed some serious numbers and his otherwise stock trans held up. Seems the biggest cause of transmission failure is case flex (or lousy driving...)

get a tuff pan for it - that is what LSR Mike ran and it solved his tranny problems from case flex. Mitsu had a cast tranny pan for the 5 spds in the starquest TSI intercooled models in 88 -89, but that pan, if you could find one, will cost more that the Tuff pan at $150 with studs, gasket and all.
