Here something I found out by accident. Friend was doing the brakes on his 92 toyota truck and I jokingly grabbed his hub and put it on my dropped spindles. well guess what they fit.not only that it uses the same inner and outer bearings. next day I went out to the wreckers and grabbed a set.also found a sec gen D50 and took the caliper mounts and calipers. went home and with a little trimming on the mounts and spindle I was able to center it over the rotor. Woot 5 lug 4.5"x5, which is the same as the 7.5" ranger axle I have in back.

Yea it has been posted on this site before, I have also gone 5-lug the very same way. Like the rims, pretty sweet.

Not a direct bolt up, you have to move the spring perches and get the drive shaft flange for a Ford.Then have the back section of the drive shaft shortened and a Ford yoke welded on.If you find a later model ranger with the 3.0 or 4.0 it will be an 8.8" and you can convert to disk brakes down the road as its the same as a 95 up mustang.

isnt it s bit wider too?, i just picked up a 2 wheel drive toy axle, its less then 1/2 inch wider then the MM axle...

Please take pictures and make as full of a write up as you can in the Wiki. Start a new thread and call it Suspension and Brake Interchange. Use year make model part numbers everything you can come up with including the mods you did. This way the next guy that comes along we can point him to the master page and save countless hours of searching. :))

I think it was an inch wider, but as I had to go to different rims I just grabbed some eclipse steel rims. my current rims on the truck have the exact track width front and rear with the Yota front breaks and the Ranger back axle

i was browsing lookign for info on a 5 lug conversion.Th elink above,the guy did the front,whats the best bet on converting the rear to either 5 lug drum or disc.
It would alot easier finding rims if the truck was a 5 lug

You either need to do what I did and remove your axle shafts(and brake drums) and send them to be re-drilled to 5 lug(somewhere like Moser Eng. (http://www.moserengineering.com/)) or get a Toyota pickup rear end and re-weld the leaf pack mounts and modify your drive shaft, plus whatever has to be done for the brakes.

And yes it is a lot easier to find nice rims once you convert to 5-lug.
