Hello lady and Gents.

I've recently bought a 84 Mighty Max with the Turbo diesel in it.
I'm new to the Mighty max scene. I've owned an Evo for years now and saw this little truck and had to have it!

Any other tips would be awesome!!

I'm currently stationed here in Camp Pendleton California so if any of you are close I'd love to meet up and get some pointers. :))

Thanks!

Sooo, are you trying to convert it to 4wd?

Yes I am.

Do you have a 4x4 frame to work with, there are some differences between the front ends of 4x2 and 4x4 frames that might make just an axle swap difficult.

So my mind has changed a little.. I'd like to just be able to lift the truck a little (3-4 inches). I'm 6'3 so the truck sits really low.

Future plans are buying a 4wd with the 2.6 and rebuilding then swaping my engine.

Something I've heard that works but have never tried is swapping the control arms from a first generation Montero. I think that is supposed to lift a 4x4 a few inches, it would probably lift a 2 wheel drive truck quite a bit.

The arms are from a 2nd gen Montero - 92 - 95. 1st gen Montero are the same as the truck ones. They will not work on a 2wd though.
