Im looking into buying a mighty max here in the United Kingdom.
I want a 2wd truck but I can only find a 4x4, however there is a scrapped 2x4 selling for parts. Could I take the front subframe, axles and suspension and swap it to the 4x4 chassis?
I will be doing an engine swap at the same time to drivetrain isn't a big concern.
What you guys think?

Would it just be easier to take your cab and bed and put it on the 2wd frame? The mounting points on the frame are the same for 4wd and 2wd, but the front suspension setups are different, you might be able to swap the 2wd front CV axle and get rid of the front diff., but youd still have the ride height of a 4wd truck.

Not really, the 2wd frame is scrap. Looks like I will just have to wait for the right truck to pop up.

Can I ask why you want to go from 4wd to 2wd?

^troopa really wants a RWD truck and they are rare as in the UK.

I wonder if you would be able to swap control arms over and then put the front CV axle under it. I just don't know if that will work on a 4wd frame.

4WD uses torsion bars. 2WD uses coil springs. Even if the control arms fit, there's no place to attach the springs to the frame.

The sad part of this thread is I wish my RWD was a 4WD. :(
