Hi Everyone!
Just bought my first mighty max and having some acceleration issues. Check engine is on but not sure if the truck has OBD sensor plug?
Thanks Guys!

Welcome to the forum. Your truck does not have an OBD II port - the check engine light is activated off the odometer. Check all your vacuum hoses, especially the ones going to the box on the drivers side inner fender.

Thanks!
When you say check the box, do you mean the cylindrical canister? I checked that an it has 2 hoses going into it. One to tank and the other one im not sure what it says, but there is a middle one that says to carb. There is nothing connected to that and also mine is fuel injected. I was thinking that it might have to do with the igniter or spark plugs and cap/rotor. I also bought a new fuel filter, hopefully its nothing serious. I still have yet to do a compression test. Can anyone point me to where I can get the factory service manual?
Thanks guys!

Also, you said the check engine light is activated by the mileage of the odometer. Do you mean the maintenance required light? How do I check what code the check engine light is for?

if your truck is fuel injected, either it is not an 1988 or had a motor swap. There is a connector under the dash that you hook an analog meter to for codes, but I am not sure where it is on the 2nd gen trucks - I am a 1st gen guy mostly. Search the forum for reading codes - there are several threads on here for that.

The connector on 2nd generation is by the fuse box (driver's side).

*update
I fixed the issues. It was the fuel pump, looked it was the original one that came with the car. Replaced it and fixed the hesitation.
Also, I am getting a CEL for code 21. Checked the book and correct me if I am wrong, says its the water temperature sensor? I looked up a replacement but Im getting a single wire water temp sensor. My engine is FI, can some one point me to the right direction?
Thanks!
