dip stick

Could some one please measure the dip stick length from the top of the rubber seal to the tip. When I got the truck the rubber part was torn off and floated so I pulled one from a 93 mighty max and I'm not sure if it long enough.

So your are using a "93 dip stick for a "90 truck if I read your message correctly? Also, are you using a 2.6, 2.4, 3.0 motor still? need this information if you want a correct measurement.

I have a 90, 2.4 4 cylinder and I took a dip stick out of a 93, 2.4. The dip stick was longer on the 90 but the rubber part that caps off the stick was sliding up and down the stick so I don't know if it should sit deep in the engine than the one i am using from the 93. I don't see oil on the 93 stick even thought I put 5 quarts in when I changed the oil 50 miles ago.

I still need some one to measure their dipstick so I know if mine is OK. I want to do the diesel flush as I have the dreaded tick and I don't want to over fill the crankcase. I can't find any info on line.

On my 4G64 it measures 8 - 5/16 to the very bottom of the rubber stopper.
