here is a better question; at what RPM do i get max torque with a stock camshaft?
after looking really hard i have found no ignition maps for a non-turbo 2.6 for megajolt. you can find them all day long for turbo applications but not for non-turbo.

In the other post in fig 3 around S6 is max HP @4000 RPM after that it falls off and then comes back up. So I would set yours up for 4200 rpm 25 deg of advance. If I'm looking at things right.

mine is a 2.6 though. the map in the figure is for a 2.0. are they that similar? i know they can interchange heads but aren't the cams different? and the other thing is, i am still a little unsure on how to read the timing map. i've been reading about ignition advance and load and how they corrispond to each other. i haven't had the chance to really drive my truck yet. i've been waiting on a new VR sensor bracket from the machine shop and then it goes into the shop for exhaust. after that i can really drive it and figure out the timing better and actually see what is going on when i press the gas pedal down. i will be able to better adjust the carb too after it gets exhaust.

If you have the stock distributor take it to a shop that has an old sun distributer machine. You can map it that way. I would guess it's a Farly flat ramp. Ask LSRMike. He is the mitsu go fast man.
If things work out we should have a new VIP joining the board. His truck has 36,000 Hp @ 376 Mph
