Hello All,

1992 Mighty Max 2wd 2.4L
330k Miles and counting
RECENTLY PUT NEW WIDE WHEELS (Might Have caused this?)

Recently this weird Clicking/Thumping sound started coming from the front end (Passanger Front)

At first I thought it was from the engine, But then I rolled the truck down a small hill with the engine off and still made the clicking sounds.

Its a similar sound to when an axle needs to be changed a Click-Click-Click when the truck is rolling.

It makes the sound based on how fast the truck is moving so as the wheels turn slowly it clicks slowly and speeds up as the wheels rotate faster.

Any ideas? Suggestions? I feel like it might be a Bushing or Bearing?

Any place I should start my search?

Thanks in advance

JP

Wide wheels rubbing on something? Tie rod end or swaybar (mine rub the swaybar at full lock) or the fender well liner.
Check your lugnuts, a loose wheel (even slightly) can make that noise

I really have to get it up on jack stands and start poking around, I dont feel like the wheels are rubbing because after i put them on the truck it didnt make the noise until just a few days ago and i drove around for a few weeks with no issues.

I went ahead an tightened all the lugnuts as well.

Will have to get the truck up in the air and really take a closer look.

Thanks for the reply!

check your wheel bearings - the new wider wheels are loading the bearings differently and showing the wear of them as noise.
