That is a first gen cluster, should work fine in any first gen truck. That one looks to be out of a diesel truck specifically, the tachometer only goes to 6000 RPM

It won't work on a regular gas engine. Diesel uses a sensor to trigger the signal, gas needs a spark from an ignition coil. And the 6k redline limit is too low for a regular gas engine anyway. Need to find one from a Sport or a Royal (base model obviously doesn't have the tacho)

Depending on the look you want it may be easier to custom make a dash. Even using other mitsi instruments, I feel you would have some luck with sigma or Cordia clusters.

Also, if you did end up with a diesel cluster, you could pop an after market tach in behind and have new numbers printed to stick on. Although I feel the rotations per mile for the Speedo could be out due to different diff ratios

The speedo should work, but the tach won't. I may have the right cluster to sell you a gas cluster with tach - I have to see what I have left over after I finish my project trucks. If that cluster is cheap I would buy it - they are harder to find for diesel trucks than gas.

thanks for the info, i would love to keeps the truck "stock" looking so no custom dash for me but finding the gas version would be awesome for my project. if anyone has one for sale for a reasonable price let me know

I've got one gas cluster out of a truck I parted out a few years ago, I don't know if it works, but physically it looks good, and there don't appear to be any tears in the circuit

if you can confirm somehow the tacho works ill be fine with that because there is a chance i can swap the speedo if it dosen't work, and also what would you be looking to get for it?

Sorry for the delay in responding. Here is a picture of the cluster. The speedometer works, I just spun the shaft in it to check it, but I do not know about the tach or the fuel and temp. gauges.

Shoot me an offer, I'll even make sure it's got good bulbs in it.
