Hello, I have noticed my truck has a slight squeak at full turn. It has done it before I turned my torsion bars up and after hasn't changed it. What could cause this? My toyota has done it forever and so has my freinds truck. I think he said it had to do something with some sort of device that keeps the spindle from binding up, not sure.

If someone could point me un the right direction I would like to eliminate this problem as this truck is about to see some farm action putting down 30,000 feet of fence.

Your truck have power steering? They hate having full lock for anything over a few seconds. I think it has something to do with hydraulic oil starvation

I think it's the steering stops. It only makes sound when the suspension moves at full lock.

I have also noticed when turning it squeaks slightly. I think it could be the steering column bushings. I'm posting a video today.

The bump stops are probably rubbing when the control arm bushes are getting fully loaded up and distorting. Got a feeling the inner column shaft rides on needle bearings but there are end bushes that seal around the shaft. A blast of white lithium grease wouldn't hurt even if everything looks ok under there.

You teach good geezer & thank you Salteen for asking the question ~ my truck had a squeak sound from ? steering wheel area or maybe under the dash ? when I used a dirt road with bumps & potholes on the Kaneohe Marine Base ~ never a squeak any other time ~ I have a spray can of lithium grease BUT don't fully understand what where to squirt ? Please Advise

Just did this yesterday. The sound has stopped. Also greased the column and quieted it down some. It still makes noise but its liveable now.
