Had bad leak pitman shaft. Pulled box and put in new inner seal and dust seal. I was stupid and did not mark position of pitman to the shaft. Excited to get things back to running. I slapped them together and I am way off and need to reset.
What is the best way to check the reinstall position to be correct? Thought I saw somewhere there was L/R 4:4.3 ratio ratio but O could be wrong. roght now I turn left and all is fine but right turn is well short and the pressure build up is forcing aleak. Any help would be appreciated. I need my baby back on the road.

Remove & reposition the steering wheel one or two splines

Is there an alignment mark stamped into the pitman arm or on the end of the shaft? Better to have it aligned on the pointy end instead of moving the steering wheel to alter the steering position.

Normally there is missing spline on the box so it will only go on one way. If not all you do is count the turns and divide it by 2. Then put the arm on in-line with the frame. From there you align the rest of the suspension. If the wheel is off. You remove it and put it back on.

Both the end of the cross shaft and pitman arm should have fine lines cut as alignment marks. Turn the box to a mid point; the cross shaft line will be roughly perpendicular to the box mounting surface. Install the pitman arm so its mating marks form a straight line with the cross shaft's.
