1mm OS so I have to send the head back in for machine work, I have no issues with that...

My query is this: Are these valves usable on my G54 head? I can't remember, but I think they are either long or short valves, just not sure if that is any kind of issue or if it just means setting up the valve train a bit differently?

I have the stem length off these valves, but not sure what stock for my engine were (though I could probably find it easily enough)

And, Hell, while I am at it. Going with the Hydro rollers, the OS valves, and a ground cam...should I go with heavier springs?

up to 85 are manual adjustors, 85 up are hydralic lash adjustors. Valve lengths are different, and the retainer clips are different also. The valve seats just need a small cut to seal to the seat. Be careful on the hydro rollers with 1.6 ratio and a reground cam - be sure you tell the cam grinder about the OS valves and the ratio change or you will bend all the valves in an instant.

I did roller rockers on mine from a guy on Ebay and had Schnieder regrind mine to a 274, and the guy said to run thier springs along with it..

About 8800 miles and still good. I just can't remember what the ratio was for the rockers.. It's been quite a while now.
If I can remember right, The stock 2.6 valves were sodium filled stems and were 3x as expensive. You could probably sell the old ones and make some of your $ back.

Yes, get new (stiffer) Springs, you can rev higher!

Got the Schneider PN for the springs, still no love on a damn Mech rocker set, though. I have tried most everything I can think of. Still have 2 sources to check thanks to a local parts shop that pointed the way.

<fingers crossed>

Acuta 73, you need to find a 1.8 SOHC in the junkyard, get the mechanical lifters from it.

Unfortunately, I think yer right and was going to be my next step. Really wanted to go with only new parts, but obsolete is obsolete. Gotta face facts at some point.

if you are really set on mechanical rockers(stock) I have a couple of sets lying aroung for a 2.6 - I will gather them up and look them over to see if they are still good.

If you could, I would GREATLY appreciate it. I need to get this together and into the shop soon!
