Poor Performance
Well I had a not so good weekend at the track.
20MPH headwinds and I could only get 149 MPH out of the truck. I had added in another 3 lbs of boost and the logs showed only 24 lbs at peak and dropping off to 22-21 lbs between shifts? most curious. I thought I had turned the Boost controller the wrong way. I took it apart and counted the turns again, should be 28 lbs, next run was even slower (ok 148 MPH) same result. 3rd run slightly better at 148 1/2 MPH, log shows the same.
Then a race official comes to the Pit, lets me know I had left some oil at the starting line. Hmmm, I jacked up the truck and crawled under. Oil all over the back end of the truck after the Tranny tailshaft. CRAP.
On the Trailer Sat Nite bummed out.
Sunday Morning about 9:30 I go back to pick up the trailer and all is quiet. A Bike had gone off the end of the runway, Rider passed away.

My troubles are now minimal.
I suspected a boost leak, Confirmed.
here's the Boost Leak Check adapter.
Here's the culprit, the Throttle Body Gasket, apparently it only handles about 25lbs.
Now to figure out the Tranny leak. and get the gasket to hod more boost!

Mill the body and put in a large O ring. That is what Cat does. Something like this.

To bad, Cat has O rings that can take the heat and darn near everything you can toss at them..
