This is on the 4x4 swap I'm working on. This mount is on the passenger side front, off of the mount for the front axle. I can't figure out what its for... Thoughts?

Do you remember what was there from the donor or did you buy all the parts? It looks alot like where that front shock hooks up but I'm not 100% sure. My truck is 2wd for now lol
Nothing was bolted to this. I'm doing an engine swap, sorry I didn't clarify. I was driving the truck before I pulled the engine, that mount/rubber is just hanging out there, and I can't for the life of me figure out what's its for. The FSM doesn't even show it in the pictures.
got a better pic? is that a v6? it seems like it's attatched to the front diff
Yes please,,, can you get more pictures. Other angles and things.

Yes, its a V6, I'm dropping in the DOHC Turbo version in its place. It's attached directly to the "hanger" mount for the axle, I just cant find anything that looks like it will hit it. I'll try to get a better picture tomorrow when I'm out in the shop. Thanks!
If it's on the axle it's self it can be for somthing like a track bar, or sway bar. Can't tell. What is that above it.

Its on the mount that holds the axle. The axle tube is what you see in the back of the picture, and next I think is the sway bar. The oil filter housing is above it (minus the filter). On the car it goes on from the bottom, not the side. I'll get some better pictures tomorrow. I can run a relocation kit, but if its not doing anything I'd rather chop it off and put the money in other places its needed.
Ya know it doesnt look to attatch to anything. Ive seen some cars with rubber bumppers attatched to certain underbody parts for dampening.
Ya that is strange. Is that a block of rubber in there? It's not a bump stop, It looks like it's in the way of the filter. I never knew these trucks did this. I see them on Fords with a big weight off the trany. My self I don't see a problem in removing it. Anybody else?? If you do remove it tape up that filter adapter to keep metal off of it.
Send powerram348 a pm and ask him to look at his truck and see if he has one.. Also ask the new 4x4 guy we just got. See if he has one.

To me thoes welds look a little crappy, and the cut out around the nut looks like it was done with a cutting torch, could it have been something a previous owner did?
1987 2WD Mitsubishi Mighty (R.I.P)
1984 4WD Toyota Pickup (Sold 10/12)(Rolled and Totaled 3/24/13)
1987 4WD Power Ram 50 Custom (Scrapped)
1991 2WD Ram 50 (Scrapped)
1992 Ford F250 7.3 (sold)
1999 GMC Yukon (DD)
1988 Ram 50(project)
Shouldn't have been, this truck was owned by a dealer employee, who had everything done to it in house (at Mitsubishi). I know he was the 2nd owner (got it with low miles as a trade in). I got it from his best friend, even talked to the guy when I bought it. The welds dont look that bad in person, the grease and oil make it look like that!
