I'm guessing clearance issue with firewall.
I'm guessing clearance issue with firewall.
Yup, I mentioned it way back in my first post. If the engine were newer it would have the crank and cam sensor's but since its the first generation engine it has the CAS on the cam shaft. Little re-engineering should fix it on my part (hopefully). If I were to do it over I'd have went with the later model engine. Too late now!
Full Mandrel bennt 3 inch exhaust. Stock Appearing.
I had a custom exhaust pipe come out and go over the frame rail and exit straight down, in front of the right rear tire. Hassled too much times by the local inspectors every year. Smart move on the "stock appearing" from the get go.
We don't have inspections here, can't tell you the last time I owned a car that would pass a an emissions test!
Little update on the intake!
Got it back home... hope to get back on it soon!
Good lord that thing looks so sexy, I want to do this swap one day!! Keep the updates coming, love seeing pics of this thing.
Thank you, hearing other people are interested keeps me going. It still has a lot to do, but its getting there.
Parts are back from coating.
Wow, looks good.
Brad was talking about feet getting into parts-pictures. In this one, it appears to be a cat.
The greatest gift you have to give to the world is that of your own self~transformation.
Wow this project is awesome! I love it!!!
That is some trick plumbing for the turbo set up Nate! A bit of heat shielding on the wheel well and you're home and hosed. Can you post up a full engine bay pic for us to look at please?
Thanks, I'll get some more pictures in the next few days. Trying to figure out the mounting and such for all the AC before I start wiring it!
Keep it coming man....lookin good
Nothing like a murdered out engine bay.
This thing is going to be soooo badass!! What all do you have left toi do?
There is lots of little things left to do, get all the AC plumbed / replaced. Adapt multiple lines for coolant, oil, etc. I've still got to get the fuel system swapped over to the car pump, and mod the lines to the fuel rail. As well as the heater hoses, which I plan to pull the heater core and modify it for how I want things. Did I mention, I haven't even started wiring...
Wow, Nate things are rolling great. The tolerances between parts on your build are so tight looking in them photos. I am wondering whats going to rattle together when you lite that truck up the first time. That G72 looks so nice in that bay also. Perfect build for that truck. Nice to see you progressing along and keeping us all posted with this. Very impressive work... You can no longer go to the Autoparts store for those particular parts since you damn well made everything custom.
Thank you, I can't take all the credit though, my fab guy is very good. I just give him an idea and am flexible with how it works out. I'm slowly making progress, just been a little short on cash so not much happening right now. Hoping to make some more progress in the next few weeks.
Just wanted to let you guys know that I haven't forgotten about this project. I've just been covered up with other things. I am currently swapping the engine in my Mirage, and I lost my best friend about 2 months ago... I've been trying to sort through all his Mitsu stuff and help his wife with it. I'll get back to this one soon. Just more important things have taken over.
Nate.. You OK?
