    New guy

i got my 1989 d50 a couple years ago for 600 bucks. let it sit in the yard a bit until i finally worked on it. rebuilt the entire 2.6 engine. only reused part is the block everything else new or remanned. but noooow im lookin to go bigger tires. i want to put 31's or 32's. i have a 3 inch body lift not sure about the torsion bars or shackles. but im worried about the gearing. i dont want it to be a dog. i would like to go through some rough stuff and im hoping the rest of the truck will take a beating lol. if anyone could help me with some gearing solutions i would really appreciate it. and if you have any ideas on front end lift???

For the gearing you can get 4.22s or 4.63s - not easy to find. There are people on here trying to come up with better torsion bars for the front, and rancho has an add a leaf for 1-2" lift in the rear

I would not worry about your axles taking a beating as much as you will riding around in it. As for gears go, goto the local pick n pull and find yourself a v6 Mitsubishi montero the should have like a 4.625 ratio and if your lucky a LSD too. And while your at it grab the upper control arms off it and replace them with the oneson your truck for an added 1-2 inches of lift

Sorry if your truck has a 2.6 than a v6 montero gears and upper control arms won't work they would have to come out of a montero with the 2.6

No not all of them have 4.625 gears but they r the most common and you you look at one in the junk yard there should be a sticker in the rear end its self and will tell you. Go out to your truck with a light and look at your pumpkin and see if your sticker is there and then get back to me.....also if there is and orange sticker on the inside of the door jam on the montero or raider then it will have a locking rear end aka LSD

It gives them lift because they are longer than our stock ucas by a few inches. I wouldn't crank up the t bars much unless u want it to ride like a tank

I leveled mine out by cranking up the torsion bars 1 1'2" and your right it rides terrible, mainly because I guess I got stock shocks, instead of extended
