rear pumpkin brake valve spring thingy???

    83 4x4. What's it do?
Looks like the spring gets tensioned when the diff pivots pass side down, driver side up. The spring pulls on a lever on on a frame mounted brake (proportioning?) valve the has 1 innie and 2 outties.

    Whazzit do?

best i can figure its for when you have a heavy load in the back of the truck, it adds more brake pressure to the rear brakes to help in stopping
