White smoke out the tail pipe.

Today, my friend notice white smoke from my atop pipe. We drive awhile and then as I hit the gas a lot of smoke came out. It don't smell all, it's just white.

Do a compression test and check the vacuum ASAP. Sounds like a bad head gasket.

Damn I just replaced it not even 3 months ago. Do you know where I can get a good head gasket.

Go check the overflow bottle and see if it's empty.

Did you replace the head bolts? I recommend ARP studs. I had that problem all the time then I found out the problem was the old bolts. Also head gaskets come in different thickness. If your head or block have been shaved use the thickest one you can get.

It was empty I did not replace the head blots. Is there a website I can get the thicker head gasket. Or do I just ask them at the parts store.

Was told each time you replace a headgasket, replace the headbolts. Arp can be used as well, but felpro headgasket and felpro head bolts from napa might be your best bet.

No need to replace head bolts each time unless the company that sold them to you specifies that they are use once only headbolts. I have been using the same exact headbolts that came with my truck in 1986. If you purchase the headbolts with the original allen head design, no modifications need to be done. If they are not the allen type and are the hex head, some modifications need to be made so they do not interfere with other parts of the engine cover or rocker assembly.
When using headbolts over, be sure to replace them back into their specific homes within the head. Try not to mix them up if possible.

Mine were hex and that was my hole problem. Oh he has an 89 I thought it was an 80. But for the money it might be worth it. I know the stud kit was about 120 for mine. Fellpro should list different thicknesses.
