Not trying to thread jack, but I have a design for bolt-on big brakes using OEM mitsu parts. It would just take a lot of buyers for me to produce the parts.

You can check out my build thread as well for the set-up I built for my truck if you are looking for ideas. I used VR-4 calipers and rotors in a slightly different setup (all custom built).

I could pull it off with 7 confirmed buyers minimum.

No, it would just be for machined hubs that bolt Montero Sport brakes to the MM. Sourcing the rotors, calipers and master cylinder would be up to the buyer. I'm sure we can sell full package deals, but the whole point is to sell the hub that bolts everything up.

I'd suggest we create a new thread with questions and such... I feel like we have gone off topic in this build thread.

Sorry I haven't been online much, and havent worked on the truck much, too much O/T in my life. I have a 90 aftermarket truck pump in there as it flows about the same as a stock DSM pump. But I have an Evo IX pump waiting to go in when I get my truck back together. They are all the same basic shape.

Sweet so it should handle a higher output and maybe a 75 shot

So progress has been slow as Ias working 60+ hours a week and it has been hot as heck, but work is slowing to normal and its getting cooler so I have been working on it a lil lately . Been working on cleaning up where the wheel wells meet the firewall and shaving the holes in the firewall where the wiring harness used to go. Its all finished and seam sealed, just need to throw some primer on it for now.

Did we ever get a forum thread or sticky started for the oversized brake conversation?

I believe someone started a thread for bolt on oem big brakes (besides merrill and my custom setups), but my setup is custom fitted and a bunch of work.

Also will have updates soon, been workjng on the truck a bunch more lately.

I made a little progess, firewall has been primed and ready for paint. I finally got a storage shed at my house for all the dirt bikes and other crap that were taking up all the room in the garage. My truck is about to go into the garage this weekend and I will begin working on it again. I hope to have it done in a month or so as I will be moving very soon.

Thanks for the interest, helps my motivation knowing there are people that want to see it done.

Keep it going .....I wanna see it!

I feel ya on the shed for getting junk out of the garage. Ive got two sheds now and still don't have enuff room in the garage. That's my own personal problem though since I get a shed and then just get more stuff to put in it.

Well the truck is in the garage and I have been working on it. Removed the bed and then removed the exhaust and driveshaft. Then i started with modifying the stock cross members to be flush with the bottom of the frame.

Got them both finished, just need to paint them:

Next I'm going to make the crossmember behind the cab for the front mounting points of the 4-link. Hope to have it welded up and installed in a few days.

Very nice. Glad to see the progression. The extended cab and long beds have 2 piece driveshafts, right?

Hey man.....Im trying to follow along and do the same to my truck.

Did u just grind off the spot welds on the crossmember to separate the lower part. Any reinforcement?

Are you building your own bars or buying premade? Getting parts from thorbros.com?
