Electronic Ignition Failure

Alright, so here is the problem, I got a tachometer in my pickup, and I had the wires routed through a hole in the firewall, one of the wires insulation rubbed off, and shorted, which was the wire that comes from the distributor to the coil, causing the truck to die, so I unhooked the tach completely, and now the truck misses intermittently and will not run without the idle set very high. I have already tried replacing the coil, and that doesn't help, I also tried modifying a 2.6l ignitor to work in my 2.0l dist, but that was just an epic failure. So here is my question. Do you know where I can get the ignitor, separate from the distributor, all of the salvage yards will only sell me the entire distributor, not the ignitor separate. I cannot find any aftermarket ones that cost less than an arm and a leg, and cannot find a stock one on the internet for sale, probably because mine says DON'T REMOVE on it. So does anyone have any ideas?

Need more info - what year of 2.0 do you need the ignitor for - it may still be available from mitsubishi

Well, actually, Droppedmitsu has the whole distributor he will sell me. This is a 1987 2.0l G63B.

Actually if you cared to know the true problem, It was a AFM screw that had fell out of my carb, I didn't notice it until I was putting the new distributor in. DUHHH!!!!

Thanks for posting the solution, nice to have a thread be completed. Doesn't it seem like a lot of issues turn out to be a lot simpler than imagined?

I know, I was pretty dumbfounded when I noticed that. Yeah, I hate forums that the solution is never added to the post, some people just abandon the thread after they fix the problem and they don't post what they did to fix it.

You know, it is for the 32/36 DFAV carb, and these have two adjustable jets on each side of the carb, I contacted Weber, and obviously I am missing more than the screw, it is supposed to be an entire jet with a jet holder. I guess that happens when you get stuff for free.
