This is a great list and I will pass it on to my son. He has an 88 Power Ram 50 2.6L I can't seem to readily find the spark plug gap for the plugs on the pis site - we don't have a manual with the specs. Changed the rotor and cap last night, will change plugs and wires when we know the correct gap. Thanks for your help. Wasn't sure how to post.byhis question so replied to your post. Thanks again

first place to look is on the hood sticker. If the truck has not been in a crash the hood should have a sticker on it.

    #6, fan shroud

For #6, is there a specific year of Montero I should get a fan shroud from? I'm looking to put it on my 82 D50, 2.6L 2wd.

Look for first gen (82-91) Monteros or Dodge Raiders with A/C. Like the trucks, I don't think shrouds were installed on vehicles without A/C. You might be able to use a shroud from a 2nd gen. Measure the dimensions and mount points on your radiator and on the donor vehicle. If close and the radiator inlet and outlet locations are the same, it might be useable with minor modifications.
    Good luck.

Thank you for this thread and I’m just now realizing it was about 4 years ago when I found this and all the contributions to this forum. I’m a second owner of a 1990 Mighty Max since 2018. I’ve done almost everything on the suggested list and just working out some EGR issues. I will post some pics and or a YouTube video link soon to help share some troubleshooting stuff I learned along the way.

My latest find from the suggested new owner to-do list- I just recently found a shroud at a pick n pull my wide radiator core model (roughly 16 x 23 inch).
