    Weber/Fueling questions. slight issue

    Hey guys got a weber on my 2.0 and did an electric fuel pump with manual regulator set on 3.5psi to the carb and it oftens starves for fuel. My setup is very very simple and im thinking that might be the main problem. Literally have one line from gas tank to electric fuel pump to carb. No returns, no venting. Is that a must have? I do have the extra lines off the tank (factory tank) capped off.
    Thoughts?

    Did you mount the pump as close to the tank as possible? if so, then remove the reg and see if that solves the starvation problem. If not, maybe the line is rusted inside and restricting the flow.

    test drive with fuel fill cap off & see if starving occurs

    ^will try once driveable again. and pump is mounted exactly 8-10inchs away from tank.

    You must have a vent.. Or you will pull a vacuum and the truck will only run for about 10 minutes of so. You must have a filter before the pump or you will get grit in the valves of it.

    when you installed the electric fuel pump did you stick with rigid line or "flexible carburetor fuel line" (it is possible to create enough vacuum to collapse the flexible line if venting is inadequate) "fuel injection flexible line" is very rugged (& a little difficult to work with) & will not collapse. i ran a single vent line alongside the filler to a brass plumbing fitting & it is only visible when "fuel door" on bed is open.

    I found out after much head scratching and cussing that you do need a return line from the Weber- not having one hooked up caused severe dieseling when I had both a DGEC (counterfeit Weber) and a DGEV which it has on there now. (2.6 Litre.) Some of the regulars on this board know what I went through in the course of figuring that out.

    The Weber DGV fuel bowl is vented to the atmosphere. If you go to the "2nd Gen electric fuel pump install" thread in the tuning and smog section you can see photos of the plumbing on my truck. I used the factory supply and return lines (electric pump in back). With a Holley 12-804 regulator set to fully open my fuel pressure is about 2.9 lbs. which is just about perfect.

    Great thank guys! Tried a few different combinations and runs like a champ now, It was dieseling pretty rough until backed off fpr to 2 psi and ran return vent from weber to tank.
