What parts are you taking from the Montero and how much lift are you achieving? How much add a leaf are you using to equalize things? Thanks in advance.

its the upper control arms from a 92 - 95 2nd gen montero, not the sport - it gives you 2-3 inches of lift and helps with the alignment with the added lift. Th rancho add a leaf is a single leaf also good for a 2-3 inch lift. Don't forget longer shocks for the rear. This is for 4wd trucks only.

Rather than an add-a-leaf, consider a Toyota lift shackle from Conferr or Summit. The item you need would be an extended shackle intended for the front springs on 79-85 Toyota pickups or FJ-series for the similar era.
Thanks guys
This is just the thread I was looking for. I know it was a long time ago but I am getting ready to order all kinds of parts and was wondering if anyone knows what lift shackles for the rear I would need. Would this work or not?
I know this is an old thread but would the extended shackles essentially be considered a body lift? Which would be a better ride, extended shackles or the Add-a-Leaf?
Is the 92-95 montero parts for an 84 4x4 lift to or is that just the second gen trucks
both first and 2nd gen trucks - suspension is the same.

Cool thanx penny man
Do you have to get Langer cv axles to then
no need for longer axle shafts - it doesn't move the shafts beyond the normal range of motion.

I just installed s 3 " lift kit on my 88 MM. Before that I had to put new roters and brakes on it. Repackec with grease all back together. After installing lift kit my shifters did not have enough room to shift into gear and 4x4 did not have enough room to be put in 2 hi. I took shifters off and was very careful then welded in 3" cold rolled steel 1/2 inch round extenders. Got all back together it still will got shift from 4hi back down into 2 hi. Any ideas thanks
Was this the 3" body lift from 4crawler? Other than the shifter, how is it working out for you?
Was also wondering if any parts from a lift Montero's would fit an 84 4x4truck, like torsion bars and what not. Just trying to piece things together for a possible lift.
torsion bars will not work, they are different lengths. Upper control arms are bolt on. body lift will require mods to firewall for steering column, and the shifter opening in tunnel for full stick motion.

Just installed upper control arms from a 94 montero on my 84 power ram and no difference in height torsion bars are maxed out to what now
I think there was some mis-communication here. The Monty UCA's are a bolt on swap but will not alter ride height or suspension geometry. They are still mounted to the same location as the PR50's and the spring seat doesn't change.
Guess I'm lookin at building my own suspension lift now then
There are kits available. They have the frame spacers, longer travel shock and springs for some of the kits I've run into. Here's a body lift kit I found on a quick search - http://www.andysautosport.com/produc...ies__3023.html
I think everything else will be stuff similar/same to an S10 so it does open up options...
How do the ucas from a montero give you lift
So I've been asking around and had someone grow the idea of moving the uca mounts to the bottom of the frame and building a new bottom bracket to achieve the front part of suspension lift on my 84 d50 thoughts on this please
