Install electic fan

Ok so i got some electric fans from my brothers old miata and i want to hook one of them up ..but im not sure how to remove the old belt driven fan and re route the belt that drives the fan and alternator etc and id like to do it right the first time lol .. Its a 91 MM 2.4 .....Thanks in advance!

Also i need to know the size of the new belt i will need since it wont be routed to the fan pulley anymore

Whoa, hold it there a second. Pulley stays in place but the fan assembly is removed and the nuts holding it on are returned to whence they came (if it was held on with studs - if not then it'll be 4 x 10mm bolts). All you're doing is removing the mechanical side of the radiator cooling system and mounting the electric thermo fan directly to the radiator face. It is a really simple procedure.

Yea, you need to still keep that pulley in the equation due to it driving the water pump for the engine cooling system.

Oh ok that makes sense, i forgot its that pulley that drives everything else. Im a noob when it comes to mechanical work As ive only had this truck since november last year. Im slowly learning everything so ill probably ask some dumb pretty obvious questions haha.

Thank you all for the help its very much appreciated guys😀 my other question is if you guys have any tricks for reducing the noise that comes from the pullys? One of the main reasons im pulling the mech fan is because it is super loud due to it not being old and wobbly so id like to quiet everything up.

You might have a water pump issue....possibly shaft bearings going out.

Wiggle the pulley to see if you have any play in it.

Do this w/o the belt installed.

Yeah i wiggled the pully and it was fairyly loose so i took off the fan and got that fixed. My next question comes to the electric fans..i have a larger one and a smaller one and am wondering which one i should use. Ill attach the photos of them below

Nevermind on the fan situation, i only have the connectors for the bigger one so ill be using that
