1st gen decal project - NOW available

I'm getting my decals remade by a sign company, I'll keep you all updated on the progress, They say once it's done they will be available to the public by calling in and ordering them(very old school). I have a very good condition original truck to pull dimensions off, original brochures to pull color off and a motivated company to do the reproduction, I feel these will be the best ones available. I MAKE NOTHING FROM THIS. you must call and order them and deal with the sign company directly. Will post the contact once the prelim designs are done. COLOR CORRECTION NEEDED. I've found a survivor car, need to find the owner. see the posts.

EDIT: I've got my truck back and the design looks good. I'll put up pics here. the sign shop also got the correct color for the Orange and the Yellow trucks (Thanks, Hutch). If you need a set for yourself, give them a call. DOUBLE EDIT; THE ORIGINAL SHOP SAYS THEY WON'T MAKE THEM ANYMORE AND i FOUND A SHOP THAT MAKES A NEW AND IMPROVED VERSION THAT IS CLOSER TO ORIGINAL- STERLING SIGNS IN CLARKSVILLE TENNESSEE. 931-431-4600

does anyone have an NOS stripe to do a color match from? I've got an original dealer brochure for both the d50 and Arrow plus I know that the '70's were a time of outrageous colors but they were all muddy, 70's orange is like no other color. please give me a sample to work with as I'm trying to do the best version of the originals ever produced- and I plan to share it with you all at NO PROFIT. I will just give the name and contact info of the shop once I've got my decals, I've paid for the design work!

Can you provide an example of what it is that you're looking for? Like a picture. I'm not sure I have envisioned what specifically you're looking for. Other than a pin stripe/decal.

I've been working with the sign shop to match the colors off of a factory brochure- I'm going to call it good since I've not found any NOS stripes. I'm going to get the shape right next. once they are done I'll post an update with pics and the contact info for the shop.

I paid too much. I paid for the design work. I do not know what they will charge for the second or third sets... and if you cannot show up to the shop multiple times so they can make measurements of your new design, they aren't going to do it. I had to do that over and over as they worked on this design.. I'll post finished photos as soon as the paint is done and the stripes are applied

ALERT, I found this truck sold by Classic Rides And Rods. it's got the best stripes I've ever seen on a 79, the colors are nice and bright. can anyone find the owner? I'd love to get some color readings from them.

First off you might try the dealership with some $$ and they could contact the person it was sold to. Secondly if you have seen it in a repair shop,same strategy. At a work place, wait till quitting time and talk to them in parking lot.

I'd say that's the 82-83 version. mine is the 79-80 version. and yeah, they changed them all the time. there are at least 4 stripe packages I know of from just the 1979 version.

There is a new shop making these now, with a more correct shape and color. Sterling Signs in Clarksville TN 931-431-4600, ask for David. THESE ARE NOW DONE AND ARE MORE CORRECT THAN THE OLDER VERSION. GIVE THEM A CALL.
