I noticed here in Australia the 4wd boxes where different and had the 3 bolt pattern in reverse of the 2wd box and were installed before the axle unlike the 2wd which is after the front end near the cab.
If this is the case outside of aus then the lines for a 4wd box will not work with a 2wd box because they go to a different location

I'm putting a small block chevy in my ex military 2wd D50 it's got the steering box on the inside of the frame. I was looking at many other forms and diagrams and figured out they put box on outside of frame later. I've got a '02 Montero steering box that should work by cutting to mount bracket off spinning 180 and rewelding. Any other pointers? Thanks!

Many differences between the front of 2WD and 4WD trucks like oil pans, oil pick up tubes, coil Spring VS torsion bar front suspension all are different
