Its bogging down when I press the pedal down to the floor and takes forever to get up to a certain rpm so I can switch gears and it does great goin down hill but takes a bit to get up a hill or to start off from a stop light. It use to take off like a rocket and chirp first gear when I wanted it too but no nuthin plzzzzz help me!

No I havent yet but sounds like I need too. Its on the side of the tank right? Its weird cuz after I hit a speed bump pretty hard it acted up and I do hear the fuel pump trying to work harder and the motor shakes and just starts up low and eventually comes up to speed but it does start right up thank god lol

I believe your truck is fuel injected. Check to see if anything was knocked loose on your intake piping. A loose hose can cause your maf or mas to not read engine load.

Yes it is a 94 fuel injected motor and the speed bump might have loosened something but I will replace the fuel filter and check all my connections when daylight comes lol.

Well I didnt really find anything but it did a fuel filter and then the motor started running great. Then all of a sudden a rod started knocking slowly louder and louder and I made it home limping but I have dreadfully go back to a 2.0L with a carb ugh but I will keep everybody posted.

You got me a little confused. I thought the 2.4 was a wide block and the 2.0 was a narrow block. Unless the 2.0 is an automatic. Or you swapped the trans too. I'm so confused.....

naw the 2.4L and 2.0L is the same block just different heads cuz both have a 6 bolt flywheel and both are 5 speed trans motors and i kept the trans in the truck and just swapped flywheels from one motor to the next and put it in. I have a 88 2.0L and the 2.4L was a 94.

HEY! there is nothing wrong with rocking the 2.0! espescially since the 2.0L was still sitting there like a faithful puppy, just waiting for you to use her once more!, and she, of course, is running still where the 2.4L is not!.... lol

If your gonna go through the trouble of engine swappin might as well bump it up to the 2.6L.

I think he's more concerned about having a carb instead if the fuel injection.

I'm happy with my 2.0 too. dohc turbo.

I swapped a 2.4 for a 2.0 and had to swap the trans cuz of the wide/narrow block deal. 2.0 carb motor was out of an 86 I think and went into my 1990 max.

That's why I was confused. I think he had an auto 2.0 cause thoughs are wideblocks if I'm not mistaken.
