I was stationed at the Navy Nuclear Power Training Unit (NPTU) Ballston Spa; it's in West Milton... Was there for 3 years 1981, 2, 3 so cold except for the 3 month summer and black flies... I liked Upstate especially in the Fall season, $20.00 for one gallon of real maple syrup back then, mmm... We went camping & boating each summer ar Great Sacandaga Lake (sp?)

    In Hawaii since 2010

I got to ride in a Delica on my first Japan work trip. The car names there are really a riot. The door reads "Mitsubishi Delica Space Gear. Super Select 4WD with INVECS-II, Specifically Designed for all Outdoor Players" I don't remember what it said next to the Fleur De Lis. It was a 2-2.5ish liter 4 cylinder turbo diesel. An absolute dog, and it rode like a slab of concrete, but the cool factor was high. delica.jpg

OK, now take that, get rid of the turbo and push the forward driving position over the front axle and have really janky seats. The Gen 1 versions of these things were terrifying to ride in...

Giovanni -- working in Japan NICE HUH

My 1st navy duty was a boat in Sasebo, Japan 1967

Steam locomotives were still being used & I even rode in one with a bunch of school girls going home from school -- we all got soot on our faces

Three wheel trucks were still being used & quiet a few on the road

geezer I used to get Datsun parts for my 1972 Sunny Excellent from a UPI in Yokohama

This PHOTO is exactly the same model & color Sunny that I had in Japan 4 speed stick twin side draft SW (?) carbs LOVED that CAR -- bought it slightly used $2,500.00 from another sailor going stateside & I sold it for $500.00 four years later to another sailor when I went stateside... It was a blast to drive on the newly opened Hodogoya Bypass to get from Kamiseya to Yokohama... Try buying one now, six figure price..!
