As long as you don't go into coil bind of course.
I know it wouldn't be much..... unless you are capable of make thick ones.

are you talking about increasing lift for the valvetrain? Look for LSR Mikes threads on his engine build - all the info you need is in those threads.

There may be different ratio rockers from another 4G6X engine that might be compatible. That being said, you don't want extra lift in these engines - you want wider valve timing duration. Lift will kill power. You will need a good cam regrind and possibly an adjustable cam gear to help dial it in if it's not a super accurate regrind

Greater lift “may” have the potential to hurt low rpm performance but that would be offset by greater upper rpm performance. Depends on how much we are raising the lift. It’s all relative.

I have been talking to a few Australian engine builder that say they have a grind they could put on my stock cam that would help. Of course this means grinding some of the base circle away to create the taller lift.
Now sure if I want to send my cam half way around the work to get this done.
BUT... DOHC heads don't grow on tree around here so going that option isn't easy either.
You have an advantage atm. The Oz dollar is toilet paper @ $0.66 USD. The freight will always be a major PITA but if they are prepared to source a used cam for you locally, that would be helpful. Who is offering the service BTW?

The dollar isn't as good from Canadian to Aus... 1 Can equals 1.12 Aus.... but anything helps
some run other rocker ratios on the 2.6. No measurable gain. SOHC higher rpm magic is in the camshaft
oz/nz cam quality control better than usa cam regrinds, from my obsevations. Most 2.0 sohc staz run Camtech, Wade or Crow
One of the most impressive 2.6 street starquests got his cam all the way from oz, Totally changed the charcteristics
Sourced from a 2.6 drag racer. Ran a 12.4 sec using a t3/t4(60-1) @13psi only! Instant spinup, tire fryer. Flatout works
Schnieder is most popular starquest cam, but generally not impressive gains. Their valve springs too weak also, but cheap
One starquester meticulously measured his. None of the lobes matched the cam card. Got into it with Schnieder
Finally they gave in, supplied another regrind. Picked almost 100hp!! on the same setup. Lobes measured matched cam
Schnieder CAN perform.... but no telling what you'll get in the mail. Shouldn't have to go thru all that crap imo
Years back when DSM guys were looking for the benchmark HKS cam equal, Crower & Web cams failed to deliver
Deltacams.com seems to get the DSM cams "right", and at a considerably lower cost
I would have no problem sending my cam to that usa regrinder.
Starquest 2.6 veterans run beehive springs. Austarion guys will have alternatives too, no doubt

a LOT of information on lash caps, using different application mitsubishi rocker arms (to change ratio), mechanical vs hydraulic cam/valvetrain, roller setups etc., found on starquestclub, as they've run em all

the mechanical valvetrain from the 2.0 + a proven starion cam grind/& springs.... seem like the simplest path for a turbo 2.4
I wish those cars/engine combos were more popular in Canada.
I'm fighting the urge to V8 swap ( no... not an LS)... but for now I will keep up the good fight with this little 4 cylinder

I built one 20 years ago... super easy swap if you have an automatic truck already.
The truck I have now is so complete I would really hate to pull the 4 for a 360 like the '86 I had before.
The other truck with a mild 360 ran 12.20's at 116 with the stock rear axle (welded) and stock brakes and shifter... pretty sketchy to get it to stop....LOL
It weighed 2550lbs with the 360 in it.

I'm curious how much a custom grind from a blank would cost... who would you even contact?
The only blanks i came across were from the aussies.
I had my cam re-ground for more duration, and heisted the Manual adjusters from the SOHC 1.8 motor (4g61) all the parts fit.
I also had heavier springs to redline at 8K, hence the manual adjust lifters, hydraulic lifters were crushed.
^ take note of LSRMikes' post. Hydraulic rockers aren't a good idea for any kind of performance platform. Especially with a high lift cam and heavy duty valve springs. The uprated valve springs will overload the hydraulic lash adjusters before the cam starts providing the extra lift. I would take a guess that a 1.8 cam will be slightly more aggressive than a stock 2.0 to try and make up for overall performance, so that could be an option (might be the same grind/might not make that much of an improvement...)
