    Light bars & roll cages.

Is there any interest out there for some bolt together Light Bars for the bed of the truck, or bolt together Roll Bars for inside the cab? I was thinking about making a production run on some to fit 1st & 2nd gens. I would do the Light Bars first. I'm thinking a run of 5, at a time. They would be ready to send out to your local powder coaters or you can paint them. The tubing would be 1 1/2" OD 0.120 or 0.095 wall

Should it attach to the bed or the the top edge of the bed sides??????? Whats your thought.
Would you want bolt together or fully welded?
If it aitches to the top rail of the bed sides it will be just a standard 4 point.
If it mounts to the bed then. Would you want 1 vertical X bar. That would make it a 5 point VS a 4 point. I'm want to keep as much function of the bed as possible, while making it a one of a kind and useful in the unlikely event of a roll over.

one that bolts to the inside of the bed for, like you said, the unlikely event of a rollover. and, yes, i would like the X bar. i'll take it fully welded as well too.

How far back do you want the down bars to run? In front of the wheel well, or to the top center of the axle on the wheel well?

After looking at it on the wheel well will look much better. In front just looks wrong.

The 1st gen show bars from the factory bolted to the center of the wheel wells and the front corners of the bed with plates with bars tha fit the ribs of the bed. It would have been of no use in a rollover, as the bar was attached to sheet metal, but it was great as a tiedown bar for cargo.

i'm still cool with that. even if it isn't "functional" in a roll-over, it would make a great light bar and have a cool look attached to the inside of the bed. the ones that are connected to the bed rails are funky i think.

I should have it finished up tomorrow. It's raining so plenty of time to get her done. It should be some where around $100 or under when done. Did you want 4 lights or 2? If 2 did you want a "gaol post" on the inside of the light so you can throw long shit over the truck and not bust up the lights? So far I'm into it for $20 in trick tabs for the lights.

Got it, 2 lights, no goal posts. 4 bends. You might want to grab a tape and check the mounting plate width. It will fit in the back of the first gen so we should be good to go. I always wanted to do this in the camo truck but never got around to it.
    Now it looks bad ass...
She is all tacked up. Once you give the word I'll finish it off.

    ----EDIT----
9" tall wheel wheel. top of rib to top of rib.
35.5" tall from the top of bed rib to top of main hoop.
55" outside to outside of hoop mounting plates.
51.5" on center on the hoop.
Down bars 51" On Center side to side.
35" On Center front to rear.
22.5 Deg inward angle on the top of the down bars..
55" out side to outside of hoop mounting plates.
    31.75" light spacing On Center.
If all is good then I will weld it up just as soon as you give me the OK.

Some minor adjustments need to be made. Other then that she looks good.
Narrowing the outside to outside of the mounting plates to 55"

    Ready to go.

Powerram, whats the inside measurement of your bed. I have 53.50" it fits, but it's a snug fit to the inside of the bed, on the first set of bends. If you have the bed liner it should still fit. We might just need to push it in.
I made some adjustments to the fit it's at 53.25 at the lower bends. I gave it a rat coating of anti-rust paint on the bars. Ready for the final welding. Let me know if all measurements are good or if there is any adjustments that need to be made.
