4D55T timing belt replacement - what all is needed ?
ALCON (all concerned),
I'd like to put together a list, and then place it on the site for a COMPLETE list of parts to replace both timing belts. Can anyone assist ? Or if it's already here, please direct me to the link/site. Here is what I know, have so far, and I'll update this as information comes in (with better part names, part numbers, etc).
PRIMARY BELT
SECONDARY BELT
PULLEY(S)
WATER PUMP
GASKET(S)
SEALS AT BLOCK
BOLT(S)/STUD(S)
LUBE(S)
ADHESIVE(S)
COMMON TOOLS
SPECIAL TOOL(S)
Let me know if I missed anything, and any details you can provide from past experiences.

You can leave the water pump on when changing the timing belts. Really the only thing you need are the timing belts. There are no belt guides, and as long as the pulleys are still good you can reuse those.

Do you know when seals may have been done last? I'd take the time to do the 5 seals that are all part of the balance and timing systems(crank, cam, fuel pump, upper balance shaft and lower balance shaft). Because you're 99% of the way there when doin the belts. You'll not be there again unless it's on purpose ...
