    Radiator Rx?

    Hey People,
Having some heat from my '89 Ram 50 2.6L.
Flushed myself block & rad and new thermostat.
After a year running hotter, not pegged. Fan clutch feels wimpy, not easy to physically lock up. Crusty, flaky on top of rad tubes. Some coolant loss, no sign in eng oil.
So, a flush with citric or cascade? Load & higher ambient temps seem to affect the temp. Any clear route for a new rad once I rule out the outside variables? Thank you all.

    If not done yet try:

Prestone (or any good brand) cooling system FLUSH
Use 50/50 premix coolant ALWAYS (it's made with distilled water & the correct 50/50 mixture cannot ever be screwed up) unless you use..?
Check ignition timing too advanced will cause overheating
Hold a piece of stiff cardboard against the fan blade with engine at idle ~ if the blade can be stopped then the fan clutch is NO GOOD
Try to avoid aluminum & plastic radiators

    Good Luck
