Not sure if this is helpful or not, but there does appear to be some options from Mitsubishi Direct Parts.

The link is specific to '87 2.6L engine, but you can change the vehicle defined to adjust results for your engine.
That's the only lead I have to offer.

Thanks!! Do you know if the 2.6 and 2.0 ran w different gas tanks? Bc Mitsubishi direct parts shows a 2.6L engine tank for 227 bucks which is great. But different part numbers from the 2.0. So seach continues.....ugh

J-Dawg, you can also try car-part.com, it's salvaged parts. I did a search for the 2.0 and had several hits. You'll just need to work out procurement and shipping, if none of the ones available are in your area. I've had parts shipped to a local salvage yard in the past, if they don't ship to residential addresses. Sometimes its the only way to find what you need.

Sometime the difference comes down to capacity rather then fit I found that a 90 short box D50 4WD could be replaced with a 92 2WD tank just a few gallons difference.

pic of the 2 tanks side by side ones sitting on a 2X6 piece of wood.
