    '88 2wd Ram 50 brakes

Hi, I'm working on going through the brakes on my truck. And I want to replace all the steel lines and rubber hoses. But in hung up on this proportion valve looking thing almost straight above the rear axle.

Now I do have pretty good mechanical knowledge. And have talked to 2 auto mechanics that I take my stuff to. But neither one of the had seen something like this, or had any idea what is was.

That's a load sensing valve. The more weight in the back the more force is allowed to the rear shoes.

Ok that makes sense. Thank You! Do you know if it's possible to get a new one somewhere?

It's been a bit since I asked about this, and I've decided I'm probably not gonna replace it.

For anyone that has gotten ride of it. how did you re-plumb the brakes to the rear? Did you just take each of the lines coming from the front and run each one to one drum?
