    Original Seal Brand Question

I noticed that the tailshaft seal was an "NOK AE8378E0" part number. I thought that it was an "NGK" because I never heard of NOK before. Does anyone know if that is the OEM seal? I am assuming so, because I can only find it internationally.

I found the correct OEM part number and O'Reilleys has a replacement locally in stock. I'm just curious if the seal was original. It seems all the rubber is no longer holding up, so I should probably replace everything important if I want to keep it from leaking.

    Thanks,

    Chris

The photo is what the new O'Reilly's seal looks like. It has those fancy ridges should provide some level of pumping action to keep the MT fluid where it is supposed to be as the shaft spins. I wondered if the photos online were representative. I hope this one lasts another 39 years, but I'm not holding my breath.
