    2.6L engine block question

    Do all 2.6 blocks have a removable cover to access the balance shaft (intake side of the block)?

    I don't quite understand what you mean. You remove the timing cover and you get access to the balance shafts. The top right one and the bottom left one. Here is a picture of the balance shafts when timing cover is removed.

    there were 2 versions of the block - with and without the cover. I don't know why they are different - they take the same parts afaik. The blocks for the starquest turbo motors may not have the cover.

    All the pictures I see online for Starions have the cover. Mine does not have a side access cover.
