    Fuel filler hose

Hey People, has anyone changed out the hose on their filler neck?
Mine has cracked and leaks. After some looking I believe I'll need to lift my bed to access the tank connection. Hoping I can loosen all bed mounts and tilt to right. Was disappointed to find the neck cannot be taken out the top even though the hose would still need disconnected at
Tank. If I had a bionic 6yr old I'd been in! My arthritic clubs ain't getting in there. Just wondering if I'm on right track. I welcome all advice and guidance offered.
    Thanks everyone, Lunny

Sorry if I misled you as I have a 1989 2.6L carbedt 4x4 with a bad "filler neck hose"! I will change my fuel filter if I can get better access with bed raised. Are the pics in that thread from a fuel injected pickup?
Mine is nothing like that. Wish I could find a replacement filler hose, makes a 45deg bend...May have a kink in it when I finish.
    Thanks for the response XBOXROX.

Here's a thread discussing the filler hose replacement on a 2wd Gen 2 truck. Not sure if there's any difference with a short bed 4x4.

Also, look at this thread concerning the fuel filter on an '87 short bed 4x4:

Post # 36 has pics of the filler hose obtained after removing the wheel well panel. Looks like the outer end is reachable, but can't tell how difficult it will be to reach the tank end from the wheel well or below. The filler hose P/N is MB504933.

Opps, the photos are of my Gen1 1986 4x4 truck with Mikuni carburetor... My Gen2 truck knowledge is basically zero BUT if you cannot find a new hose replacement then I suggest seeing if the latest model Mitsubishi truck uses the same filler hose as yours REASON: the newest trucks might have hoses that are still in the best condition... These guys are the best to find that truck with the best hose: https://www.car-part.com/

    More filler hose photos: http://www.mightyram50.net/vbulletin...hp?albumid=679

Good Luck & Maybe pay a young man with long arms to install the replacement hose for you... (?)
