    Dome light switch

    Hello all, finally took a few minutes to check out my dome light issue.
    Had to clean up LH switch corrosion and back to normal then, lights on intermittently and have to switch off at light. Finally, I notice the RH switch is stuck in.
    Disassemble to find switch has broke and the domes being managed by the rogue wire terminal grounding inside the cab! Just wondering if anybody knows if someone still sells the switch. It's a one person rig 99.9% of it's time so I'm happy & functional now. Just a fixer by nature.
    Thanks for any help shared.

    I think the way the light and switch work is that it's got one always-hot wire, plus ground wires to the plunger switches in the driver and passenger door jambs, which latter work by completing that path to ground at the door end. If so, the 3 switch modes would be:

    • Door: connects the door-switch ground wires at the light end;
    • Off: disconnects the door-switch ground wires at the light end;
    • On: connects to ground directly at the light end.

    As such, you could prolly just bypass the switch at the light and hardwire the door-ground wires to the lamp directly, if you just wanted the light to come on when the door is open.
