    1988 Ram 50 "Blue"

Figured I'd say hello, since I've been on here a little while...

I found a "craigslist gem" last year, 1988 Dodge Ram 50, 2.6l with automatic transmission ~124k miles. It had the rear bumper removed after an unfortunate incident at a red light a few months prior, an oil leak, and brakes that were questionable.
Over the past year I've replaced the front calipers, master cylinder, rocker cover gasket, headlight, tag lights (those are fun to find), thermostat, radiator cap, and alternator belt, as well as basic tuneup and maintenance work.

Still to go are fixing the horn and parking brake. I haven't needed either to this point. Oh, and maybe putting a trailer hitch on it, if it needs something back there to pass inspection. I'm not sure what DE law is on that.

I keep planning to take more pictures, and eventually I will get them posted.

thanks for the welcome. I finally pulled out the camera today, and updated my gallery...

I may end up replacing the grill at some point, it had this damage when I bought it

I know how you guys like to see upskirts... I mean under hoods

it had just this tiny speaker hooked up to the cd player when I bought it, along with an amp and 12" sub behind the seat...

so I pulled out the sub and amp, and put in a pair of boxed 6x9s

could replace the seat at some point, but haven't decided on going back with the bench or switching in buckets

Old habits, like marking oil filters... while they may die hard, but they make sense

Dunno about replacements (good luck), but I just took mine off gave em a good sanding, and painted em. Get em down to bare metal and use self etching primer on the metal. The plastic cap thingy, use some adhesion promoter (plastic primer).

A bottle of Naval Jelly might speed the process up, yers look pretty rusty. And you can get the spring in the back cleaned up nicely and greased.
