Im sorry but I believe the 2.6 is a wide block. There was a thread on here somewhere with the measurements between the lower two belhousing bolts.

Well, I'm sure the 2.6 is a wideblock. You could get a km132 5 speed trans and it should bolt up to your exhisting driveline. If not then maybe a different motor is what you should be looking for. Also, I don't think your head would bolt up. Not deffinet but I'm sure.

ok, so hypothetcally if i were to get a tranny that works with the 2.0 narrow block, i could get it into my truck and hook up all the existing wires and whatnot (like other than the tranny, it would work?

I would think so. I wonder where the 2.6 guys are with their wisdom.

2.6 wide block....if you go to a narrow block you need a new trans. stay with the wide block the trans are stronger and that aint saying much since they are not all that. ok. cool

Someone with experience with the wideblocks. Also gives you a chance at a 2.6 starion turbo swap. ;) you got the trans already. Just a thought if sticking with the wideblock.

You'll need the exhaust manifold for the 2.0 also. Goin through the 2.0 and 2.6 engines and bays in my head can't really think of anything else that wasn't said

mitsu fwd cars.....4g63 2.0 and 4g64 2.4 are narrow block

truck g52b 2.0 with rwd & 5spd is narrow block

g54b 2.6 in early 80's dodge k cars is narrow block

truck g54b 2.6 and 4g63 2.4 are wide block

fwd engine block will bolt in place of a narrow 2.0 using the correct engine mounts. but plumbing is different and the dohc cyl heads require creative thinking to put in a longitudinal setup.
