Sounds like you guys are now in the same boat as me. Get out and buy your parts trucks if you want to keep them stock. It always comes down to the $$$$. And the envyroment. There just is not any reason to keep the tooling for the old stuf. The advarage life of a new car is 10 years. It cost 10,000 to build it. They sell them for 22,000. Thats 2200 per year per car. My truck was 8000 New and it has been over 30 years thats like 265 per year. Where is the money at? Not in our old stuff. Welcome to the disposable world. Car clubs won't even look at our trucks because there imports or there not befor 1975. We are considerd a "Modern Clasic" and "vintage" is now defined befor 1930 or somthing like that. If people would actualy use somthing untell it was worn out there would be very few new cars on the road. But hay now you can have an Esclade with TV for the kids, GPS to gide you, Self parking because you are to bumb to park it on a street, a computer that recives driver imput so if somthing hapens it will shut down instead of pouliting the envyroment. Check out the new diesels that have come out. They have a eurea injection system for the exhuast. Yep now you must fill a specical tank with exuast fluid. If the tank goes emty or it malfunctions, it will only idle.. It's going to get even worse. Nissan has a new system that is under testing in the LA area that works with your cell phone, cars GPS and can determan what lane you are driving in and the state can issue tickets if you use the carpool lane and don't have a pasanger. It uses blue tooth to relay data to the car in order to determin if the other seats have been buckeld and the weight sensor in the seat for the air basg have been activated. If not you will recive a ticket in the mail. Curently the government is not using it for tickets but give them time. Don't beleave me just google it.
