G54B or JDM Cyclone 4G63?

Whoa, y'all confusion sinks in. 2.0 is a narrow block, 2.6 is wide block. So how could a starion (wide block) trans work w/ 4g63? Or are you just saying tail section on 2.0 trans. Also, the whole starion motor mount on a 2.0 is odd. I'd figure you'd just use a 2.0 truck engine mounts. I dunno

not all 2.0's were narrowblocks there was a 4g63 wideblock

Ok yeah think I remember someone stating on the old site that a 2.0 w/ 5spd was narrow and w/ auto was a wideblock. Thankfully my buddy will be selling motor with a 5spd trans. Sad part is the Starion hit the junkyard and didn't see it in the upull it section. I'm taking my neighbor over tomorrow so we can hash out ideas and will try to get more info and pics! But regardless, its time to start working on getting a motor in the damn truck!

Ok just got back from my buddy's house. Motor is mine! Will pick up next weekend.

4door: I have a 54b that was in the truck. It was a turbo block. My same friend gave me an ass ton of Starion parts. Exhaust and intake manny (w/ tb) turbo, a/c condensor, steering pump, dist, along with a bunch of smaller parts.

The cyclone will come complete as he received from inporter. Also including a 5spd MM transmission, (believe he said) 14b turbo, wiring and ecu. However ECU is from an automatic so I have to do some work to the wiring. Also, he has a nice clutch but it won't work with the spine on the MM trans. I'm not a motorhead so my neighbor knows what we need to order. He says just take all the shit cause its collecting dust and taking up room. But I told him I'll pay him while in Iraq cause it doesn't feel right getting all the shit for free! So I'll be researching project zero x website and hopefully making progress to make this truck go voom voom!!!

The trucks that were wide g63b's were autos only IIRC

Nice. I'm using a sachs replacement clutch for the starion on the eclipse fwd flywheel and pressure plate. So far holds hood under boost. Tried twice with centerforce for performance clutch discs but for some reason they sent the same disc set up that was too large. Wouldn't fit in the flywheel so I gave up until I need another one.

Yeah guess the problem is he has an aftermarket clutch for eclipse. The spine on MM trans is too big. Also an issue with the flywheel. So I'll have to order correct flywheel and clutch. Also will have to get a TB plate tig'd to the front. Our plans will be to tear down slightly to inspect engine. Then install all new gaskets if internals check out. I'll work towards more HP later after truck is bagged and looking close to finish!

The only difference on a cyclone engine is the intake, it has a dual runner setup, unless you get link or the entire cyclone ecu and wiring harness you will not be able to get the full use of the cyclone intake manifold. You should just get a regular intake manifold or spend the money and get a SMIM ( sheet metal intake manifold). The rest of the electronics will correspond with what year car the motor came from, if it is a 90 cyclone, they suck for electrical. 91+ is the best for electrical. When I do my swap I am gonna use a 2g harness and ECU so I can use my 2g DSMlink on it.

Well my boy Alan says he has the ECU but will verify. I'm really lucking out cause he was in process of hooking drivetrain up for a Starion swap.
