need help lowering my 95 mighty max

thanks that helps me out alot and im buying drop shocks so i dont think i will need to worry about them botoming out.. but how much of a drop would i need if i have 17 inch caddy wheels cuz i want the wheels to sit an inch or a half inch above the fender??

In those pics, the rims are 14" rims. As a matter of fact, Ethan still has those rims cause he's a Jew that gave me Isuzu stockers. Lol

No worries man, I honestly can't measure shit for ya cause I'm past stock configurations on the front. I think the blocks I have are 3". They are actual blocks. Then still on the truck is Ethans old set up. I think they are homemade 3.5 or 4" blocks. To be honest, if you can make your own blocks and cut your springs, I'd say go for it. I'm not trying to make money off those parts. So whatever ya decide is cool by me. Just get some pics up of your ride!

yeah i found the nitro drop 2 shocks i wanted to get 4 of them but i dont know how good they are??

and i still want to get those parts off you but i just need to get the money and thanks again for all the help..

and i figured out how im gonna lower the rear end by taking out the middle leaf spring and add those 3" lowering blocks and i think it will sit really nice but im kinda scared to do the front cuz this is my first time working on my own truck and i really dont know much besides changing the oil and small stuff like that but if you can give me like a step by step instruction on how i could do the front i would greatly appreictiate it

this is straight from the book...there are other ways to get it done using rachet straps, a jack, hammer, pickle fork, etc. But here ya go.

Removal & Installation

Coil spring precautions

Elevate the vehicle and support safely on jackstands.

Remove the wheel.

Remove the shock absorber.

Remove the bump stop and disconnect the stabilizer bar from the lower control arm. Note that the rubber bushings for the stabilizer are not all the same. They are NOT interchangeable and should be labeled or identified for correct reassembly.

Install spring compressor tool (MB-990792 or equivalent) to the coil spring and to compress the spring. Make absolutely sure the spring compressor is correctly installed before compressing the spring.

Remove the cotter pin and lower ball joint nut. Place a floor jack under the control arm; elevate the jack to within 1 in. (25mm) of the arm.

Release the lower ball joint from the knuckle using a ball joint separator such as MB 990809-01 or equivalent tool. The arm will drop onto the jack as the joint comes loose.

Slowly release the compressor tool from the coil spring.

Use the special tool (MB990792-01) to compress the coil spring for removal and installation-rear wheel drive Pick-ups


Lower the jack as necessary, pull the arm down and remove the spring with the rubber isolation pad and upper spring seat from the vehicle.

Install the spring with the rubber isolator. Make sure the spring seats correctly in its upper and lower mounts. Install the compressor tool and compress it enough so the lower ball joint can be inserted through the knuckle. Use the jack to support and adjust the height of the lower control arm during installation.

Tighten the lower ball joint nut to 100 ft. lbs. (136 Nm). Install a new cotter pin. Remove the spring compressor.

Install the bump stop and install the shock absorber. The shock absorber mounting bolts (upper and lower) are tightened to only 10 ft. lbs. (13 Nm). The bump stopper mounting bolts should be tightened to 51-61 ft. lbs. (70-85 Nm).

Install the stabilizer bar, remembering to install the rubber bushings and hardware in the correct locations. Tighten the sway bar bolt until the bolt threads project 0.87-0.94 in. (22-24mm) beyond the nut.

Install the wheel and lower the vehicle to the ground.
