I was thinking pearl for my truck to but my brother(paint repair specialist) says 'don't do it!'... apparently you can't touchup pearls which means a repaint if you get the slightest damage(scratches/stone chips...). Kind of a shame because i REALLY love pearl, I'm thinking vanilla now.

Awesome truck! I see some DSM love. Hopefully my truck should be done in the next few months. The motor is out getting rebuilt and Im gathering up the rest of the parts for the swap. Got a couple 2Gs and 1Gs that im working on as well.

Haven't updated in a while, so here goes....

I tuned the beast..

First time on the dyno, my brand new 3 week old clutch (stock) blew apart at 9psi. So I had to order a new clutch. I ordered a Centerforce Dual Friction heavy duty clutch, and a brand new OEM flywheel. Put them in, broke them in, and returned today to try our luck at hitting 300whp/300+wtq @ 18-20psi.

Also, before returning, I installed a 2g MAF, with a custom fab'd intake to work in my truck with the new oval-mouthed MAF. The intake was complete custom, and I also had the BOV flange and tubing done all by my boy All-Motor Mike. He's an awesome fabricator, BIG thanks to him as well..

Got on the dyno, pushed the turbo, and due to the clutch (Centerforce) starting to let loose, Tony tuned conservative. The truck made 243.9whp/256.8wtq @ 14.8psi. Not too shabby for a tiny little unexpecting mini truck, huh.. LOL

THANKS Tony & Jeremy.. Awesome, like always.

On to the pics and video..

The next clutch will be custom made. the pillar pod holds boost and wideband. in the bed IS the exhaust in that pic, lol.. we tuned open DP this last time, to allow it to breathe better.

MaxD50 wrote:What are the load pressure ratings on the Center Force pressure plate for the 4g63 turbo? My Conquest scorched the flywheel just like yours with less than a 100 miles on it.

This clutch made it through the easy, babied break in, then it just started spinning. Now, when I ordered that clutch, it was under the assumption that it would hold well over 300hp/300tq, which is what we were shooting for. When it didn't, my tuner got on the phone right then. He talked to them, and found out that the clutch was only rated to hold 230tq, and said it was doing BEYOND its job, so no refund or anything. I was so pissed. If I had known it wouldn't hold for the goal we were shooting for, I would've gotten another that did. Soooo irritating.
