radiator fan question

radiator fan question

Postby villacorta32 » Mon Nov 30, 2009 8:35 pm

my water pump took a shit on me and for some reason so did the radiator fan did too, it came loose and hit the shield and got all torn up. so what are my options, i'd like to go electric to free up some hp, also because i can't seem to find any mechanical fans anywhere. Thanks ahead of time for anyone that helps.

+1 to that. A couple weeks after i bought my 14in hayden electric fan we found the same fan in the junkyard laying on the ground. We tested it there at the yard and it worked so my buddy got it. He paid $20 for his I paid like $80 for mine. Another thing ive experienced with electric fans is they are alot quieter than the clutch fan.

Here's a taurus electric fan mounted on the stock radiator. I only paid $12 at my local u-pull yard.

My radiator is from a 1990 2.4L base model truck. The sport model had a thicker radiator (2 row vs. 1 row core).
