PLUG & PLAY for 2nd Gen!
Holy $344 Balls Batman! Go to a junk yard... I'm not saying you'll pay $5, but you def. won't pay $300+ like on ebay! Napa, has them for around $100 but I'd check the yards first... I think to take one out of a truck takes about 10 minutes... all you need to take with you is a philips screwdriver, 17mm Socket/Ratchet, wire cutter (dikes), and strong arms to pull the wheel off... no need for a puller... just keep wiggling and pulling, it will pop! And while your in there... grab the digital clock, they go for $20ish on ebay!

SO, how much wire needs to be cut?
I'd hate to cut out/forget something that's needed.. a pic of it would be great!

On my early Honda civics, one would have to cut and splice in the 'option' from the later 80-83 to use. But on the later 84-87 si models, you just had to pull the wheel and change out the wiper side of the 'stalk' and plug it in.

You don't cut any wires... you just unplug it under the dash... you only need the dikes because there is a wire-tie that holds the harness to the steering column. That needs to be cut to remove the harness in one piece.
